Abhi Rastogi, MBA, MIS, Executive Vice President of Temple Health and President & CEO of Temple University Hospital Inc., was recently named to Becker's 2025 Academic Medical Center CEOs to Know list.
This list honors executives who lead top institutions that are hubs for discovery and innovation, overseeing groundbreaking clinical trials and pioneering novel technologies and treatment models while also working to expand access to care and improve public health.
“Abhi is exactly this kind of transformative leader,” said Michael A. Young, MHA, FACHE, President & CEO of Temple Health. “His vision, operational expertise, and commitment to Temple Health’s mission have driven extraordinary institutional progress, community impact, and clinical innovation.”
Abhi was instrumental in the strategic planning and opening of Temple Women & Families Hospital, which reaffirms Temple Health’s commitment to addressing maternal health disparities and providing the highest-quality women and infants’ care.
He also led the acquisition of Temple Health-Chestnut Hill Hospital, bringing new services—including a Fox Chase Cancer Center infusion center—to a hospital that has served its community for over 100 years.
In addition, Abhi has propelled the growth of our transplant programs, particularly the Temple Lung Center, which is now the #1 lung transplant program in the U.S. by volume. He oversaw the major expansion of TUH-Episcopal Campus’ Crisis Response Center and has made significant investments in community health partnerships and workforce development initiatives.
His bold, forward-thinking approach has also driven substantial enhancements in operations, quality, and financial performance, allowing Temple Health to invest in the latest innovations and technologies that help us provide exceptional care.
“Abhi’s visionary leadership is shaping the future of academic medicine in Philadelphia and beyond,” Young said.
