“We’re gathered here tonight for a greater purpose,” Michael A. Young, MHA, FACHE, President and CEO of Temple Health, told attendees at the 70th annual Acres of Diamonds Gala, held on May 8th at the Kimmel Center for the Performing Arts. “To stand together in support of Temple Health’s mission of providing world-class care that’s rooted in compassion, driven by innovation, and delivered with respect.”
It was the central message of Philly’s night out for healing, hope, and wellness, which raised funds to support lifesaving patient care across our Temple Health campuses and healthcare excellence for all. This year’s Co-Chairs were Steven R. Carson, MHA, BSN, RN, Senior Vice President of Population Health and CEO of the Temple Center for Population Health, and Tracy Davidson, NBC10 anchor and reporter.
Honoring Community Champions
Our Gala Co-Chairs presented Temple Health’s Diamond Award to Co-Honorees H. Chase Lenfest, Founder and Board Chair of North10, Philadelphia, and Reverend Michael A. Major, Sr., Founder and Board President of Called To Serve CDC. The Diamond Award is our Health System’s highest honor, recognizing an individual or organization that has demonstrated exceptional social responsibility.
Lenfest has shown a deep commitment to North Philadelphia, championing initiatives that promote community development, neighborhood outreach, and economic opportunity. Reverend Major’s dedication to his community is just as unwavering, as is his investment in economic growth, workforce training, and empowerment through education. Both men’s leadership continues to strengthen—and is a vital part of—North Philadelphia and our city as a whole.
