Jessica H. Beard, MD, MPH, Assistant Professor of Surgery in the Division of Trauma and Surgical Critical Care at the Lewis Katz School of Medicine at Temple University (LKSOM), helped organize and moderate a session at the first-ever Better Gun Violence Reporting Summit hosted at WHYY. Billy Penn covered the summit and featured some of Dr. Beard’s remarks in its article. Dr. Beard was joined at the event by a group of Temple Emergency Medicine faculty and residents that was organized by Megan Healy, MD, Associate Professor of Clinical Emergency Medicine at LKSOM. Scott Charles, Trauma Outreach Coordinator at Temple University Hospital was also at the event, as were several LKSOM students.
