At Temple Health – Northeastern Campus, we know that dealing with billing and insurance information can be confusing. Our goal is to make it easy for you to understand our policies and procedures.
Billing & Insurance
Most insurance plans require pre-approval for medical and surgical procedures. Prior to your planned treatment at Temple Health – Northeastern Campus, your physician must contact your insurance company to explain your medical condition and outline the proposed treatment and care plan. Your insurance carrier will then review this information and determine whether to approve and pay for the services recommended by your physician. Please note that pre-approval does not guarantee payment. Services not paid by insurance will be your responsibility.
Temple University Hospital and Temple physician services accept most area insurance plans. View a list of the most common insurance plans we accept. Please call 215-707-7608 if you are unsure if your insurance plan allows you to come here.
When you arrive at Temple Health – Northeastern Campus, you will sign papers accepting financial responsibility and authorizing us to bill your insurance company. It is important to provide complete and accurate insurance and demographic information to avoid errors. We will bill your insurance company directly for all approved services. However, final resolution of the claim is your responsibility. Your insurance company will determine what portion of the bill is your responsibility and you will be billed accordingly. In addition, you will be responsible for any claims not paid on time by your insurance plan.

Due to federal laws and contractual arrangements, the hospital is not permitted to waive charges, deductibles or copayments, as this is considered discriminatory.
