Patient Education Events

Our obstetrics/maternity care includes a number of programs to help you have a healthy pregnancy:

Prenatal Education

Each year, Temple’s doctors and nurses help thousands of families welcome new babies into the world. It's one of life’s most exciting events, but one that comes with many questions. Our entire medical team is here to help you through every step of your pregnancy journey — from prenatal care to your nine months of pregnancy to the birth of your child and beyond.

Breastfeeding Education

Temple is a designated Baby-FriendlyⓇ birth facility by Baby-Friendly USA, Inc., the US authority for the implementation of the Baby-Friendly Hospital Initiative, a global program sponsored by the World Health Organization (WHO) and the United Nations Fund (UNICEF).

Our obstetrical team members are trained to provide evidence-based lactation education proven to increase breastfeeding and improve infant health. We encourage new mothers to initiate breastfeeding within 1 hour of giving birth and educate on breastfeeding benefits, management, lactation maintenance and the importance of breastfeeding on-demand.

Sleep Awareness Family Education at Temple (SAFE-T)

Our nurses educate new moms and families about safe infant sleep practices through one-on-one education.

All families who deliver their babies at Temple also receive essential baby supplies to take home with them.

Check out the schedule for upcoming events.
