Leadership at the Fox Chase – Temple Urologic Institute

The Fox Chase – Temple Urologic Institute was born from a deliberate collaboration among three urologic leaders who shared a clear conviction: that world-class urologic care, research, and education are strongest when academic rigor, clinical excellence, and health system leadership are fully aligned.

Robert G. Uzzo, MD, MBA, Founding Director of the Fox Chase – Temple Urologic Institute and Chief Executive Officer of Fox Chase Cancer Center, brought the perspective of a nationally recognized cancer center leader, surgeon scientist, and long-standing advocate for discovery-driven, patient-centered oncology. Alexander Kutikov, MD, FACS, Chair of the Department of Urology at Fox Chase Cancer Center and Co-Executive Director, Fox Chase - Temple Urologic Institute, contributed deep expertise in urologic oncology, surgical innovation, and data-driven care delivery, alongside a track record of building high-performing academic programs. Jay Simhan, MD, FACS, Chair of the Department of Urology at Temple University Hospital and the Lewis Katz School of Medicine at Temple University, and Co-Executive Director, Fox Chase - Temple Urologic Institute, added nationally recognized leadership in reconstruction, survivorship, and surgical education, paired with operational insight across complex health systems.

Together, they envisioned a single integrated institute that could transcend traditional institutional boundaries. An institute where patients benefit from seamless access to subspecialty expertise, providers thrive within a unified academic culture, and innovation moves quickly from idea to impact. The result is a urologic institute designed not around silos, but around people: patients, providers, trainees, and investigators.

The Fox Chase – Temple Urologic Institute stands as a shared commitment to excellence, collaboration, and forward momentum in urologic care.
