Daniel Edmundowicz, MS, MD
Medical Director

A national authority on the applications of atherosclerosis imaging to cardiovascular disease prevention and risk factor modification, Dr. Edmundowicz has lectured widely and published more than 80 peer-reviewed articles. He leads public health and epidemiologic studies and participates in multi-center clinical trials. Dr. Edmundowicz is a Fellow of the American College of Cardiology and past president of the ACC’s Pennsylvania Chapter. He is also a member of the American Heart Association and National Lipid Association.


Yoshiya Toyoda, MD, PhD
Surgical Director

One of the nation’s most respected and innovative cardiothoracic surgeons, Dr. Toyoda is highly experienced in coronary artery bypass surgery, pulmonary thromboendarterectomy, heart, lung and heart-lung transplantation, and mechanical circulatory support for end-stage heart failure. He has performed more than 800 heart, lung and heart-lung transplants, and pioneered many surgical techniques and procedures. He has published more than 500 peer-reviewed manuscripts, book chapters and abstracts. He has mentored numerous cardiothoracic surgeons who now take leadership roles nationally and internationally. He is a member of the American Association for Thoracic Surgery, Society of Thoracic Surgeons, and International Society of Heart and Lung Transplantation.
