Temple University Hospital--Episcopal Campus is in the Kensington section of Philadelphia. Founded in 1852, Episcopal is the second-oldest continuously operating hospital in the United States. The campus is located in Philadelphia's largest Latino community. In 2002, the hospital was transformed from a general acute care hospital to a center of excellence for all of the Health System's behavorial health services, including a 120-bed Behavioral Health Center and an emergency Crisis Response Center. The campus also contained a full-service Emergency Department that treats more than 30,000 patients annually, a 16-bed medical surgical unit, the Episcopal Hospital School of Nursing and primary care and speciality physician services. Episcopal joined the Health System in 1998.
