Temple Physician Elected New Secretary for American Medical Association's Board of Trustees
Stephen Permut, MD, JD, Chair of the Department of Family and Community Medicine at Temple University School of Medicine, has been elected Secretary of the Board of Trustees for the American Medical Association (AMA). Dr. Permut was elected to the post at the AMA's annual meeting in June. He has served on the AMA Board of Trustees since June 2010, and was also recently confirmed as an AMA Board-Designated Commissioner to the Joint Commission's Board of Commissioners.
Dr. Permut also serves as Associate Dean, Academic Affiliations for Temple University School of Medicine, and as Professor, Family and Community Medicine. He is a graduate of Temple University School of Medicine.
"I am honored to be elected Secretary for the AMA's Board of Trustees," said Dr. Permut."This is the nation's largest physician organization and I am pleased I get to continue to represent America's physicians."
